The victim apparently had slashed his throat with a steak knife, which was found under his body, according to Deputy Coroner Amos. Sumrall had lived at the home of his brother for the last nine months and was an employe of the Miro Drilling Co. He came here from Andrews, Texas. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Edwin Sumrall, of Meridian, two brothers, William of Owensboro, Robert of Meridian; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Young of San Matao, Mrs. Lena DeArmon, of New Orleans, and Miss Dorothy Sumrall, of Meridian, and several nieces and nephews. He was member Hope Baptist Church, Meridian. The body is being returned today to Webb Funeral Home, Meridian, where services will be held.
